Ah stop complaining about the 3D, if you guys want no glasses, then give it time to get there. True it is expensive and causes headache but the technology was never given the opportunity to flourish.

3D PC gaming won't be mainstream unless DirectX 12 will support it.

Unfortunately that's how it works; PhysX/Havoc are vendor specific, VDPAU/XvBA/VA-API are vendor specific, even Eyefinity/(whatever nVidia calls it) are vendor specific.

ok, so crysis really made its name cause it looked so good, with that of course coming at the cost of requiring a high power machine. Now they're going to consoles with the game, consoles which are far weaker (most of the games aren't even 1080) than most gaming computers (and thats with a relatively low system requirement bar to be considered gaming). On top of that, 3D requires twice the system power since each frame has to be rendered twice. My question is, how can crysis 2 possibly look good on consoles? I've seen the trailer, and it really doesn't look that good at all.

that would be awesome to see. i can never afford it at present, but awesome.
this 3D craze is just to make us happy until we get holograms. (they are close! and they mean it this time! /sarcasm)

[citation][nom]tipmen[/nom]I still believe 3d is just a fad. I've tried to watch things in 3d all it does is give me headaches and cost more.[/citation]

[citation][nom]miloo[/nom]too bad, i cant even watch 3D movie,i felt dizzy easily i remembered last time i watched final destination 4 3D ~ i almost puke on my pants ~ Sorry, no 3D for me ~ Probably a good reason for me to stick with ATI card ~ and cheaper TV , monitor? no 3DS ?[/citation]

I am with you 100%. please 3D just die a quiet death and leave us alone.

3D is AMAZING! I've played the original Crysis in 3D and it does add a lot to the game. Sure, a minority of people get sick/headache's from 3D, but that shouldn't stop the development of what could be the largest step in gaming immersion since Dolby Digital.

They already have stop pushing 3d TV's at my local Futureshop and Bestbuy. The displays are damaged and only run a demo Dvd. Have not seen one at a Costco. Curious question, how come the "unofficial" launch of 3D,Avatar, was not released in 3D. Was it Jame's trying to "will" people to the theatres?

I said it before and Ill seay it again, I knew Crytech would make this game 3d... playing the first 2 Crysis installments would only prove otherwise and these guys love to push gaming graphics and physics mixed with a good story. Its almost epic and it felt like being in a movie, so why not join in on the 3D action?

After all this is a new way to tax hardocore gamers and builders to build more monster crossfire and SLI systems with DX11! Albiet I doubt that even a crossfire 5870 or SLI 480's can handle 3d in FULL HD DX11!!!

Just another generation for ppl to try to build newer monster machines when weve finally maxed out the orig Crysis and WH... they find a new way for us to spend more just to justify the new benchmark! Brilliant!

3d is NOT the future of any thing, like teh 1960's-80's red and blue 3d eventually this new version fo 3d will phase out as the lame gimick it really is , and movies that were specifically made for 3d wil be forgotten as well as video games made for it (think movies like my bloody valentine 3d , pirahna 3d ect ect).

as far as video games , they were "3d" before this gimick even came out , iot was teh wholeof switchign from sprite based game to rendering polygons was to make them 3d ,then this new gimick comes along and all of a sudden polygons are no longer 3d enough to be called 3d , because now the industry hasa gimick they can throw on it and call that 3d.

in teh end it is jsut a fad eventualkly peopel will relize (like before ) that it is ridiculous to throw on special glasses jsut to view a movie or a game.,then don't forget teh fact that a whopping 30% of the world population doesnt actually have 20/20 vision , which most these gimicks rely on. reminds me of a trip to imax once with my 160/30 vision .. i stick the specialglasses on but i'm still seeing double images instead of the 3d image i'm supposed to see. sure 30% doesn't sound like much but we are talking 30% of 6.5 billion people, do the math that is a huge number of people this tech is compeletely useless to.

[citation][nom]braneman[/nom]now imagine the computer you would have to get to play Crysis 2 in 3d, maybe you'd have to tape two high end rigs together.[/citation]

this is no performance decrease, otherwise they wouldnt be able to get 3d to work on the xbox 360.....

To bad for people who can not see 3D correctly. But then just stick to 2D and stop ranting/trolling on forums.

It is like complaining about colours over black and white.

I do not see people who can not see colours correctly complaining each time there is a new movie/game/TV/monitor that is released with colours and not black and white.

Colour techs in movie where not that great at the beginning.

The more 3D haters spread their hate, the less people will buy 3D tech/media and the less company will invest in 3D improvement which will then lead to 3D becoming a fade.
If you do not want to support progress, then do not slow it.

So now take the other 70% of 6.5 billion, do the maths ... that is an even bigger number of people for whom this 3DStereo tech could be completely awesome!
And by the way, may be some of your 30% could even use prescription glasses to enjoy 3DStereo tech. I know at least one who does 😉.

Does anyone else here even realise its not even 3d. Its a 2d picture set to trick you into seeing a semi 3d image that looks horrible. Ill give a damn about this when it is truely a 3d picture instead of two 2d pictures. Though i do agree 3d is the future of graphic represintation, its also got to be 3d. I dont really see a 3d "tv" of any sort coming out for many years to come so ill see what 3d content is out there when the first 3d whatever they will be comes out.

Djab your argument might make sense if there was a such thing as a 3d tv 😛 also color over black and white was actualy an inovation. two 2d pictures is just stupid. Just as stupid as this "3d" looks. Ill support progress when i see it.

IMO 3D will not catch on until they get rid off the glasses. Companies are just trying to show off stuff now so they are not left behind. But look at the market, for TV programming most of the material still is not in HD yet, and what there is, a lot of it is upconverted material. Personally, I would love if the industry would move to 4K res at 60fps. Even theaters need to get out of the stone age with its 24fps.

3D haters trolling the comments of any article 3D-related, that's new! 3D is definitely awesome, just because you all dont have the money and/or want to pay the premium to be an early(ish) adopter doesnt mean that the technology isn't here to stay.

And its awesome to see how much Crytek are putting into 3D support. I def would like to see them go back and make the first Crysis support 3D better though! That should be a no-brainer!

Um im not whilling to put money into it becuase its crap and not really 3d. I have the money to buy what i want but this isnt worth 5 cents to me. And saying "3d" is here to stay is a pretty bold statement considering how many times its now failed to go anywhere.

Now true 3d is something i would blow 3 grand on in a heart beat. just because it would be that goddamn cool.
