Hello all,

I just completed my first gaming PC build. The parts consist of:

- Intel i5 6500
- MSI H170A Gaming Pro
- 16GB Ripjaw V Series Ram
- Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD
- EVGA SuperNOVA 650 Watt 80+ PSU
- XFX Double Dissipation R9 390X DirectX

I am currently playing Counter Strike: Global Offensive. I have not noticed a trend in certain maps or stages of the game but there are times that my game screen will freeze and a sound loop begins to occur. I BELIEVE that the screen freezes in the game when there is gun impact or kills. The only way I can exit the game is to to hit the "Windows" key and it will pull up the Windows start menu to allow me to turn off or restart my PC. At this point the game screen is still frozen on my monitor.

- Does this sound like a PC parts issue or Counter Strike: Global Offensive issue?
- Is there any solution for this issue?

Thank you all in advance!

- David

Solution

Sounds like a CS:GO issue to me. Has happened to me before, and I solved it by going to properties in steam and validating steam files. This bug also occurs commonly to everyone when you alt tab back into or out of the game. I wouldn't be worried about the hardware.

Thank you for your answer. Hopefully the game is the issue, I will also validate the steam files as well. I will try out different games over the weekend and see if I have issues with those.
