Hey everyone,
I have this really weird problem with CS:GO, after it's been installed for a while it starts running really slow. The only way to fix this (that I know of) is to uninstall the game and re-install it. After doing that, the game runs well. Also, what I mean by "running slow" is mostly before joining the game and, more importantly, loading the map. When clicking on play, it takes a while for it to even render the icons of the maps and it's overall very laggy. As for the map loading time, it takes nearly 5 minutes to connect to the server, I've gotten banned from Faceit a few times because of this. The only "fix" I've found for this one is to first connect to a casual/deathmatch game, wait for it to connect (usually 4-5mins) disconnect and then connect to the faceit server. This way only takes 20 seconds MAX.
The weird thing is, with a fresh install, all this goes away. The lag on the menu and the taking-forever-to-load-the-map issue are no more. But, it gradually comes back, after a week or something like that.
So, I think I'd be right to say it's not a hardware problem. What I'm thinking is that CS:GO is overtime storing cached files that are supposed to be deleted after but it does not delete them but I have no idea if that's correct and how to check if it is so or not.
Would really appreciate some help,
Cheers.
