So I recently updated to Windows 10 and now when I play Counter Strike my memory jumps up to about 900mb. It runs fine by itself but when I try to stream it lags really bad. I stream with obs and have everything up to date. Also when I start streaming the memory usage jumps to about 1100mb. Not sure what to do. It didnt do this when I first upgraded to 10 and had just recently started doing this. My PC specs are:

CPU: Intel i7 4770K
Motherboard: MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming
RAM: 8GB Corsair Vengeance 1600
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 760 4GB
Cooling: Corsair H80i
PSU: Corsair RM750 750W

Hi, yeah.

Downgrade back to Windows 7, Windows 10 is full of bugs and driver compatability issues, it's not a surprise that it is causing you problems. Windows 10 destroyed my comptuer, gave it some blue screens for a couple of weeks then fried the motherboard! Yeah... really!

See if this fixes your issue anyway though.

Hope I helped!

Ive tried reinstalling 8 from disc but for some reason it wont let me. Any help on what I can do to get 8 back?

Thanks for the reply. I actually got 8 reinstalled onto my pc and running. Only thing is im still getting csgo to run at 800mb. Guess it wasnt 10.

Ok, glad you got the issue fixed,

Please mark the thread as fixed.

Well actually i didnt get it fixed. CSGO is still using 850mb of memory at idle and jumps over 1200 while trying to stream.

Oh sorry, I mis-read.

See if you can verify the cache of the game in steam and post back the results here.

Ofcourse, this could be normal since CS:GO does require a lot of cpu power.

Many thanks,

I have friends who play and say theirs runs at about 350mb. not sure why im getting so much.

I re-verified it and it still does the same. Do you think it could possibly have something to do with my stream settings?

Morning,

Are you using a HDD or and SSD?

If you are running a HDD run a disk defrag

If you are running an SSD, type the following command in cmd (as admin)

fsutil behavior query DisableDeleteNotify

Post back results thereafter,

Many Thanks,
