so when im playing CSGO ,which is not a demanding game, my cpu temps rocket to mid 70's yet when playing actual demanding games like GTA 5 and fallout 4 it stays <55 degrees, so is there any explanation that anyone knows of?
CPU = I7 6700K (NON OC)
COOLER = Corsair H45 Liquid AIO

Solution
Have you looked at actual CPU usage? You're CPU is only going to generate heat when it's doing something. Games like CSGO tend to render a great deal more frames than needed, and more than are usable with most screens, and as such easily benefit from frame limiting in graphics drivers.

If you're running a high end GPU, and a low end game, such as CSGO, you're not going to be GPU limited, which means you're going to be CPU limited. Fallout 4 and GTA 5 are more GPU bound, and as such the CPU spends more time waiting on the GPU to get things done, and as a result, enjoys lower temps.

Think of frame limiting as imposing an artificial GPU bottleneck, so as to limit extra work being done by the CPU and GPU. There's little point in rendering...

Think of frame limiting as imposing an artificial GPU bottleneck, so as to limit extra work being done by the CPU and GPU. There's little point in rendering frames that can never be displayed, although there are some who claim they need an unlimited number of frames for a game to "feel" smooth. You're the only one that can decide if you can live with a reduced frame rate in games like this, as it's entirely subjective, and you'll get as many different answers as people doing the answering.

AMD has in-built frame limiting in their drivers. Just pull up the graphics control panel and set the limit you want in there.

NVIDIA has the feature in the drivers, but don't expose it yet, that I know of. You can access it through NVIDIA Inspector, whatever that is.

Other options which can help in capping frame rate include GSync, Freesync, Adaptive Sync, or even good ol' VSync.

Thanks, i realize now that is was running at 300fps so i capped it at 120 and now its under 40,
For anyone wondering how just go into the dev console on CSGO and type fps_max 120 or the number you want
