Hi so I just purchased a new 144hz monitor and I'm now using a dual monitor setup. While in game, if I tab out and try to do something on my other monitor, my csgo screen turns black and then minimizes, showing Steam under. If I want to go back into the game, the quick black screen comes back and my game shows.
I've seen multiple threads saying people getting black screen, but those seemed to cause a crash or something. Mine is just a second or two and kinda irritating, is it normal? is it supposed to happen? If not, how do I fix? I already checked and my monitor display is indeed on 144hz on the first monitor, and 60hz on my second.

I'm also playing on native res
Happens on borderless and fullscreen

game is also on SSD

thank you

hey, tell me about your in-game resolution. Are you playing stretched?
Try going into nvidia control panel if you are playing stretched and select the option (i don't remember the exact name because english is not my first language) 'fill the whole screen" or "stretch" something like that.
If you are not playing stretched, try selecting "match with screen resolution' (again i am not sure if it is the exact name"
Tell me when you tried

I can't seem to find any of those options. but no im not playing on stretch, im playing on 1920x1080 (native res)

Ya so go in nvidia control panel (right click on desktop) and go to the "adjust destkop size and postion" tab, and try fullscreen if you are in "aspect ratio" mode or try "aspect ratio" if you are in fullscreen already

I was on aspect ratio and changed it to Fullscreen, but my black screen still happens

I'd say check updates on graphic drivers, even reinstall them if needed (uninstall them with DDU). Try check csgo files or reinstall it (i doubt reinstalling csgo will work but just a guess)
Also switch back to aspect ratio because it is the most apropriated mode for most tasks

Already did all of that :/

Again, I guess you did that already but you need to set your monitor's refresh rate to 144Hz in nvidia control panel, which you have probably done already.

I don't know if I understand your issue right, but, are you saying that when you are in csgo and tab out to use the second monito, the main monitor goes black?
If that's your issue then it is normal, and if you don't want that to happen you need to select "fullscreen windowed" in csgo video settings

On fullscreen, fullscreen windowed and even windowed, when i tab out, i get a 2s black screen. doesnt matter if i go to the second monitor or stay on the main one. same thing happens when I exit the game
edit : same thing happens when i try to return to the game.
