Question Ctrl+Wheel stopped working for zooming in Foxit Reader

The scroll wheel on my mouse no longer worked in my old CAD software in Windows 7 (it worked with earlier OSes), so I installed KatMouse and it worked. But zooming with Ctrl+Wheel stopped working in Foxit Reader, so I placed Foxit Reader in the KatMouse ignore list. After that everything worked fine for about a year but then this happened last month ......

I uninstalled KatMouse because I mistakenly thought it might be responsible for a small problem I had a month ago. It turned out that KatMouse had nothing to do with it, so I reinstalled it. But now Ctrl+Wheel refuses to zoom, not only in Foxit Reader but also in my CAD program. It still works in MS Word and browsers.

I uninstalled and re-installed KatMouse and Foxit Reader several times but it hasn't made any difference.

I'm not an expert at editing the registry but I looked anyway. Finding nothing obviously wrong, I exited without changing anything. Can anyone please help?

I'm used to solving technical problems by narrowing down possibilities in a logical sequence. I'm 100% sure that the problem is not with the wheel itself. It works flawlessly for scrolling in all programs including Foxit Reader. It still works with CTRL flawlessly as a zoom tool except in Foxit Reader.

Ctrl+Wheel worked fine for zooming in Foxit Reader for about a year when FR was in KatMouse's ignore list. It stopped working for zooming only after I uninstalled and reinstalled KatMouse.

Interesting, but it's not quite the same as my problem. I was using FR 8.1 (d/l Nov 2016) up to a month ago and everything worked as expected as long as FR was in KatMouse's ignore list.

The bug discussed in that thread is about the scroll function, and only with newer versions of Foxit Reader. My problem is not in the scrolling function per se but with Ctrl+Wheel for zooming.

The problem appeared after I uninstalled and re-installed KatMouse. I installed FR 9.72 but it made no difference. Then I uninstalled 9.72 and did a clean install of v8.1 but the problem still persists.

Windows 10?

Take a look at the Gaming and the Ease of Access configuration options.

You might find something not as expected or as it should be.

What CAD program are you using? Check their website's FAQ's and Forums. Someone may have asked about similar problems.

Windows 7 (as I said at the beginning). The CAD program is CircuitMaker 2000. As the name implies, it's 20 years old and is now abandon-ware. No website, no support. The current CircuitMaker by Altium was derived from CM 2000 but is very different.

I have newer, more advanced electronics CAD software such as the popular KiCAD but I really like CM 2000.

In any case, the problem is with KatMouse and Foxit Reader. The CAD program is involved only insofar as it's the reason I need KatMouse.
