I currently have 2 drives in my PC. My main HD, the C drive with the OS and everything not flight sim related. And then a 840 Pro SSD, E drive that I use only for flight sim. Tomorrow I have new parts coming in for a new build. I ordered a new OS and HD for the OS, but I want to use the SSD in the same way I did on this current PC. I was just going to delete the files on the SSD and plug it in to the new MOBO tomorrow. My question, is this going to cause any problems, or is there anything extra I have to do to the SSD before I put it in the new rig? Ive never reused any drives so just want to make sure everything will work.

Thanks

If you want to, Samsung's Magician tool should have a "secure erase" function. This will completely erase all data on the drive and pretty much restore it to a factory state (except for the physical wear and tear). Then you can just treat it like you would with a new drive and install what you need to.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah that was my first thought, however, for as long as ive had the drive, it has been in a frozen state, not allowing me to secure erase it. I tried unplugging, and plugging it back in, updating the software, putting the PC in sleep mode and taking it out, nothing worked. So i was just going to delete all the files like normal, with the delete key
