From what Ive read on the web, you have approx a 1-in-10 chance of your part working with the excellerated 133Mhz bus. I am running a Gigabyte DDR MoBo right now. My 850 Tbird worked my 1Ghz did not. I also have 5 Durons of which 0 would boot into windows. AMD will be selling 133Mhz bus parts by the end of the year.

well worst case scenario is that you absolutely can run pc1600 (200 MHz) DDR which combined with a 1.2 T-bird will be so damned fast you'll feel true charity towards the poor bastards who are getting intel again for xmas.

for example Asus accepts both in their new A7M266 <A HREF="http://www.asus.com.tw/whatsnew/whatsnew2010.html" target="_new">http://www.asus.com.tw/whatsnew/whatsnew2010.html</A>

my strategy is that, in the event the new 266FSB T-birds aren't available soon (although a supplier I know feels they should have some in by year end) I'm buying 266 memory in any case; it runs fine at the lower 200MHz clock and we can use it at full speed when the 266 CPU's become available.

there seems to be a great deal of ddr induced euphoria at Tom's these days

Hi,
the only thing to care about is the chipset.
AMD, ALi and VIA are going to produce chipsets, that support DDR SDRAM.
But take care the AMD 760 for instance runs in 100 or 133 MHz for both, FSB and RAM.
Special Versions of the T-Bird will hit the shelfs with 133MHz FSB support.
So wait a while, it's better.
