Hello,
so recently I just got a virus on my pc (stupidly enough) and so now I want to factory reset it. It is customly built running on Win 7 64-bit that I downloaded through a real life disc.

So right on the problem: After I've chosen to 'Reset' my computer my cursor disappears (because windows is shutting down). But when it shows back up again and tells me to pick a language my curser is still gone!

I normally use a deathadder mouse but I've also tried wireless usb logitech mouse which doesnt do the trick either. Also only the usb 2 ports seem to work and the usb 3 shuts off during the resetting.

I'm happy for any response I get, bye

Solution
Better to fresh install after a virus as some can survive in windows partitions and re emerge once you set up again

don't use wireless mice

instead of factory resetting to win 7 and needing to reinstall it, just fresh install win 10 instead - added bonus is win 10 knows what USB 3 is without needing drivers installed.
on another PC, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB

change boot order in BIOS so USB is first, hdd second
boot from installer
follow this guide: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-windows-10-clean-install.html

when you reach the screen asking for licence, click "I don't have a key" and win 10 will continue to install and reactivate once finished

On the screen where you choose where to install win 10, if it gives you an error about GPT drives, delete all the partitions on the hdd and press next. If it still gives error, cancel out of the installer and restart PC and start installer again, it will accept next on that screen this time (some PC just need a restart here)
