Hey all,

Im attempting a custom build of an older iMac (Late 2012 27” iMac) that had a busted screen.

I’ve successfully removed all the components out of the back housing and plan on mounting it in an acrylic case. I noticed when removing the ac plug that it is grounded to a post.

My question is, what could I use to ground that in my acrylic case?

Solution
Not needed with an acrylic case.
It is for safety. If a wire shorted to the metal case it would kick the breaker or power supply off.Acrylic does not conduct electricity so it is not needed for the case.
If you are using a metal motherboard tray you could attach it there.

Ok awesome! Yeah I was going to mount mobo (more or less in apple words the logicboard) to standoffs directly fitted to the acrylic sheet.
