Hello everyone.
I'm writing this message because I am in need of help for my new PC build. So let me explain the situation as short as I can.
I'd like to get a gaming computer and get as much as I possibly can with my budget. Now since I live in Europe, in Croatia to be exact, there is a slight issue between price discrepancies between US and EU.
I primarily play Paradox Interactive Games such as Crusader Kings 2, Hearts of Iron 4, Europa Universalis 4 (You get the jist of it), but there are also AAA games that have come out in the past or will come that I would like to play. Such as Batman Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, the upcoming Mass Effect Andromeda and so on. Now I don't need those AAA games to run on absolute Maximum or Ultra, but I like when a game looks nice and offers me smooth, uninterrupted play.
Now onto the budget. As per today's $ to HRK (Croatian kuna, the currency in my country) my budget is 540 $, or 490 Euros. (I might have converted it wrong, so sorry about that, but the budget is in the whereabouts of the money I said).
I've searched the Internet and even this forum for numerous solutions on what to do and what to go for. Skylake, AMD, GeForce and so on. And well now I need your help.
Do I for example go for an AMD processor/ATI card, Intel processor/Nvidia card, or do I combine one and the other. Like for example an AMD processor and an Nvidia Card or Intel processor and ATI Card.
Now comes the problem of the mentioned discrepancies in prices between the US, the EU and now I have to add the price discrepancies in my home country. Let me give you an example. The processor(s) and GPU's I've been aiming at are currently priced as follows:
Intel's i3 6100 is priced at 120 $ dollars at Newegg and 126 at Amazon. Nvidia's new 1050 Ti is priced between 144 and 164 $ at Newegg. AMD's Athlon X4 845 is at 68 $. Athlon X4 860K is at 102 $. The RX 460 4 GB version (Sapphire's) is at 129,99 $ after rebate at Amazon. The G4400 is priced at 59,99 $
To convert it into Euros, add between 20-50 EUR onto the price in dollars. Depends on card manufacturer (MSI, EVGA....) And now we come to the prices in Croatia and the stores around here. For example the i3 is priced at 150 $ when converted, the X4 845 is at 80 $, the 860K is at 97 $ (okay that's closer to US price) and the cheapest G4400 is at 65 $. Onto the cards. The cheapest 1050 ti that I could find is currently priced at 205 $. The cheapest RX 460 is at 156 $.
I hope you are still reading this thread and that you are with me.
Now, I was either aiming at going for an X4 860K and Ti build (Yes I know the socket on the processors is outdated) or an i3 and RX 460 build. Or perhaps an option where I could go with a G4400 and a Ti. Now my question is, after you read what I expect from my games and what games I play is what is the best budget build and the best bang for my buck. I should also mention that the price discrepancies that I've written regarding the CPU and GPU are similar when it comes to RAM, MBO, PSU and all. So take that into consideration. Also there is a possibility of perhaps ordering from Amazon or Newegg or some other site that ships to Croatia, and if the delivery costs are not too great. As long as it is within in the budget, I should be okay. In fact if there was a site that offered FREE shipping or small price to pay for shipping, and taking into consideration the prices in US Dollars, I think I would go with that one. But then there is the entire warranty and if something goes wrong scenario.......you know, the shipping, repairs and all.
But seeing how I pretty much got my head spinning with all the part reviews and prices, I need your help. And hopefully you will give it to me. If there is anything you don't understand, please let me know and I shall try to clarify it as best as I can.
Thank you for taking your time to read this, and thank you in advance for your help.
Sincerely yours,
Boky001
