In 2024, there is nothing stopping anyone from actually accessing the TV functions....only takes a little ingenuity and patience....LifeLock, OnePass, and others said they couldn't be hacked yet they were....
Please...enlighten us on how this might be done.
Be as specific and as technical as you need.

Conditions:
Random "Smart TV" (you choose make/model).
Laptop or HTPC, running a fully updated Win 10 or 11 Home.
TV connected with only the HDMI cable from HTPC.
No ethernet cable to the TV, and WiFi turned OFF.
You have networked access to the HTPC. Either in the internal LAN, or passthrough from outside the LAN.

Go.

Oh please go away with your childish challenges....if you thought it up according to your "Conditions" go for it...otherwise unless you've already attempted it don't attempt to downplay others without proving you've tried and failed yourself....Sony said their Playstations can't be jailbroken yet many have done just that....go play with your Legos....

You stated it could be done.
"only takes a little ingenuity and patience"

I, and I image others here, are curious how, exactly, you might do this.

I won't be holding my breath.

Calling somebody out to show proof of something that the rest of us know for absolute certain can't be done, isn't childish, except perhaps on the part of the person who naively and erroneously tried to say that it could. As outlined, we are ALL certainly curious and I assure you that several of the people you're responding to are not only NOT "childish", they are the people that keep you safe from the evil crap that is out there, literally, at least if you're in the US. You should really try to know who you're slinging garbage at before doing it. I assure you, none of these people are failures to launch who live in their mother's basement. They are the people the government looks to, and trusts, to handle all the things you take for granted. They just happen to volunteer some of their time here. And now that you know, still like to know how you think this could be done?

I was the one being challenged....not the other way around....

yes, it's a nice toy if you pirate everything and don't care about things like HDR.
Netflix will be a miracle if you can watch over 720p, HDR support on linux is still a mess, and even using windows the difference in quality watchin on my oled monitor vs a non smart tv 1080p 40" (quality for the time, not a cheap one) is massive to say the least, just because i have a 4k firestick attached to it when doing netflix and prime.

Ps i am someone that works with linux and his first linux distro was RH 6.1 (1999), that has linux on all of my computers exept a partition to play LOL
