Hey guys I have a computer setup and don't want to buy a case. Just wondering what the best material would be to make/mount it on. Wood? Lemme know what you guys think.

Solution
I would say wood. (unless you have the means to do your own fabrication, not everyone does)
If you use a cured wood, and apply a lacquer to it, you wont have to worry about moisture or shavings.
You can mount it on top of a slab of wood and call it good, or you can install standoffs and insert it into a desk with a glass top. It depends on how creative you are, and how much work you want to put in.
Wood is one of the easiest because it's non-conductive, but it also can retain moisture and water so you'd want to be very careful to keep it in a dry area. Since there are a lot of moving parts in the PC, the vibrations can also cause screws to wear in their joints and components could become loose. Plastic, especially in the dawn of 3D printing, is viable. Metal can be used, but it's obviously conductive and would require being grounded and the inside metals being isolated from the outsides. You would also have to make sure no metal trimmings and shaving made its way into the final product because they could cause a short.
