Hello all,

I am currently planning on building a custom pc into the case from an old ps2, but I have no custom case making/modding experience, I do know how to build a custom machine, i've just always bought cases. Do you have any main tips and basic things that I need to do/have you seen someone do this before. and one thing more thing, do I need to make standoffs connected to something metal to connect the motherboard to the case so that it is grounded? if so then how should I do that, and if not what do I need?

Thanks!!!!!

Solution
uh, nvr done anything like that, but you'll want to consider how hot the parts will be getting to make sure that there is room for adequate cooling...

yeah, I intend to put some more holes in the case to hive it better air flow, and maybe try a fan less radiator for the processor

Well if you are in the mood to do a IBM PS/2 mod...

Look for one of the PS/2 old Server towers. It will give you the room. you need.

It has enough height for a the stock fan or top down that comes with a CPU.

You can find a plate adapter for your DVD drive that will make it look like part of the system.

The down side is you will have to cut everything off from the old chassis and mod back of the case. Also do not know if a full height card will fit int he case.

Its an interesting project but if you are brave..go for it.

thanks for the input, i am actually planing on using an old playstation 2 and have the layout already, Im using an external disk drive and a low profile cpu fan for an a10 apu
