CX430 to ghetto build

Hello,

I'm blanning to buy CX430 V2 to this system:

Q9450 (stock)
780 (mobo)
GTX280
2x hdds

Is there enough juice to provide the power for the system? (There isn't going to be heavy use, only web-surf/watching videos)

no , if you try and run a game
maybe if you just run videos , but even then you should dump the power hungry GTX280 and use a Radeon 6450 or similar

Theres no way she will try to run any game at it.

Maximum is watching videos on 1080p at full screen.

And yes,i should dump the GTX 280 and i will in the near future, but right now the budget is very critical at this state. (ironically because of my 2500 euro build i did couple of days ago)

I cant recall what the low power state of a GTX 280 is . I know they were not as good as current graphics cards which manage to idle at very low power consumption .
Power consumption wise it should work , but have you checked the CX 430 has the power connectors required? Again I cant remember but I think the GTX 280 needs 2 x 8 pin pci-e , but the cx doesnt have them . Maybe a molex to pci-e adapter will fix that . Also maybe not since the molex cant carry the current required for 8 pin

I guess you should give it a go and report back
