Hi all,

So I've been having this problem since i built my new computer and it only happens on a few of my games (all steam). Games that do run, run flawlessly with no crashes

It seems that for what ever reason DirectX 11 keeps throwing access violations and I have no idea why. Most, if not all, games i run use a form of directx but only these three crash:

Empyrion Galactic Survival (crash log below *Unity 5.4*)
GTA V (just says to reinstall the game, tried. and an error loading d3d... thanks R*)
Elite Dangerous (couldnt load a file so could not lock a buffer)

GTA V is weird, it starts benching at around 50-60FPS and then crashes at a random time after, with the above error.

These have to all be related to DirectX more specifically the d3d11.dll file. I have spent about 2 weeks trying anything i could find online including:

*removing random sticks of RAM and trying different slots
*Removing overclocks
*Underclocking
*Fresh install of Nvidia drivers (ddu also, with latest drivers)
*Resetting BIOS to default (updated as well)
*Running at directX 9 but it still crashes just after about 30 seconds more
*Reinstalling DirectX (also checked DXDIAG for errors, none)
both elite dangerous and empyrion give some pretty nasty artifacts aswell.

Im at a loss here 🙁

Thanks for any help

Solution
well for me it started at the intro where after the robbery and killing off the cops right before i could get into the getaway car the game froze. That happened twice near exact same area and time in game. I tinkered with many things at which point i got past that.. but still had issue with configuring resolution and fps.
stupid how i tried to get back into the game once by safemode and that crashed.
cant seem to change the fps as its set to..... 24? i got no clue man. might have to try with the lowest settings and tinker one by one to see whats causing the crashes.

btw there was one time where a window popped up saying d3d....
played other games for a bit and its been fine.

i just got gta v and its been about 1.5hrs
not sure what it is but its a pos game.
i thought forza was bad.. this is worse.

Yeah. Trouble shooting for my pc problems have been terrible. Every issue has been fixed in the least expected way
(ex: access violations should be RAM associated)
DirectX just didnt like that card i guess. The GTX 1060 runs all my games (including watch dogs 2) at 70-80 FPS on high settings at 1080p. No crashes on the system or games.
