I have an old Dell Latitude D630 that originally had Windows XP running quite well for many years. The bluetooth module and its blue light indicator worked fine. But when I upgraded the laptop to Windows 7 (64 bits, and also added more memory and new larger HD, etc) all worked fine but the bluetooth device doesn't work at all. I doesn't detect any device nearby and it can be detected by others and the blue light indicator don't lit. The windows device manager shows always "device working correctly" on its properties. It’s supposed the drivers are the suitable ones.
I tried using an external USB bluetooth module and finally it can work fine.
Why the internal bluetooth is not working ? Is it very strange, I have tried a lot of things to make it work but no success !
Even with the linux installed in it (I have a dual boot W7 –linux mint) the internal bluetooth doesn’t work too.
Every time I install the old disk (with windows XP) I still have, the internal bluetooth comes to life again !!
This is getting me mad !
