So my dad as a civil engineer recently built his own office and until now worked with his 1200 Euros laptop (from 2012, it's a beast and keeps up very well with the latest technology). It is only 17.3 inches though and he would like to upgrade to around 24. He works with engineering/architecture software (like CAD, Sketchup etc.) and I believe a 1080p 60Hz IPS would work well. I don't know much about monitors, so I'm seeking for help here. His budget is approximately from 180-250 Euros (we live in Greece so I don't know if the prices are the same, however don't worry). Any help would be gladly appreciated!!!
Edit: It's not obligatory that the monitor have HDMI or VGA, any port is accepted.
Edit 2: Oh shiat, I forgot that we would appreciate it even more if it was VESA 50/75/100 compatible.

Solution
you can get cheap 1440p, as you don't 'need' 144Hz, BUT i would say that a higher refresh is nice to work on.

The first one is a good basic 1440p panel.

Looks great, any chance that it's VESA compatible??? Edit: Pictures show that it is.

I think that 1440p and higher are out of our budget
