Daimond Viper II

I can get a Daimond Viper II for free if i want it. Would this be better in my system than my Voodoo3?? I can't find any reviews of if so i was wondering if it was faster or not.

You will see a performance loss, but it's at least worth what your paying for it!

He said that the 2 cards should be pretty close except for games based on the quake 3 engine.

Never tested a Voodoo 3, but the Viper II I tested would only get about 4 fps in most 3D-Mark 2000 test.

What system was it on?? My voodoo3 never went below 20fps in 3dmark 2000. I can't get 3dmark2001 to run on it. As soon as i get it i'll post the results.

I tested it on a K6-2 500 with 64MB RAM.

I used a Viper II for over a year with no problems. Just make sure you get ahold of the last drivers that were issued. Also, S3 released a tweaking tool that allows you to mess with most of the boards settings. I found both at a site I believe was the-ctl-alt-del.com. Not 100% sure of the URL though.
