Does anyone know what this jumper is for?
It's not mentioned in the manual, I've searched on here for it, but it's only listed where someone had mistakenly used it to connect a fan to, and still no talk of what it is.
I have a GA-970-UD3P MoBo on order and I saw it in a picture. It's at the top of the board, close to the CPU fan connector.

Hi mate,

The jumper was used for older components which did not have enough power to run by themselves and thus, they needed to use the Power Supply to get more. The cable connect in the Power Supply is called "PERIF" and the other end is called "Jumper" which would have been connected into your component. I doubt you would need it though. My WD 1 TB HDD has it but it doesn't need it.

Hi Emanuell
Many thanks for that, I wasn't planning to use it, I'm just a curious old git who likes to know what everything does and get even more curious when a manual doesn't even mention it.
So, thanks again.
