I have Installed Windows7 on Amd athlon64 2800 1 8 ghz athlon 64 k8smx motherboard, 1.5gb RAM, 500GB SATA HDD., It running dam slow & gives blue screen error, While booting it also specifies SATA device not found. It takes almost 15 to 20 mins for booting & every click around 1min, I tried to intstall Windows XP but it does not detect HDD, please help on this
The reason for low RAM is It can not be increased beyond 2 GB & I had 512mb initially. So I added 1GB as this is DDR Ram its not available easily & at justifiable cost. Further my main interest is my PC should work with any windows sys. I was having 80gb PATA HDD which got currupt beyond restorable condition, So i changed HDD to 512 SATA. This was the point from which I couldn't use PC for any kind of work since last 6 months other than installation & bug fixing. With this HDD only Windows 7 (64bit Ultimate) setup run sucessfully. However, It is awfully slow that the word slow would also be relatively fast than the actual performance. If you have any suggestion you are most welcome. I have installed some drivers form asus site, like RAID & BIOS of 64 bit.

I have same processor with 1 GB RAM, 80 + 500 GB SATA HDD, K8MM-v msi motherboard without graphic card. I have install Windows 7 32 bit ultimate (not 64 bit) because 1 GB RAM for (32-bit) and 2 GB RAM for (64-bit) minimum requirement. and my PC working OK (Aero effects not working :( ).
