Hello, my laptop is dead and I need to recover the data. Is it possible to plug the hdd into another computer using an adaptor to recover the data, or will there be a conflict due to windows being installed on it? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks...

It should work fine then, connect the drive via the adapter and you should be able to access the data without issues.

Thank you

Hello,

which type of laptop do you have and what type of interface does the drive have? If the drive has a SATA interface it is recommendable to use it without the adapter, cause this can interfere with the drives' capability to connect properly.

Its a Dell XPS 15 L501x, I think its a SATA interface. So your saying I should install the hdd inside the desktop?
