Hello, I have a CF card with about 3 hours worth of material on it that I'm supposed to be working on, but because of a crushed pin in the (very stupidly-designed) card reader I have, it disconnected while I was transferring the files and now it says the card is empty although in the "devices and drives" list in Windows it says that the card is half full still. Has anybody been in a similar situation and would know how to recover those files? Thanks

Solution
Run a file recovery program like Recuva to see if it finds anything. Testdisk is also good to get lost partition info back.

Don't keep any single copies of files, especially on a removable card. Keep the original file on the computer and use the card only to move files between systems.

That the card IS recognized is a good thing. It at least means that data recovery software can scan the card to see if the data IS recoverable. give RescuePRO a try. Run it in evaluation mode, as this is the mode that does not cost anything. If it DOES find what you're looking for, you can purchase a license for it and save the recoverable files.
