I am experiencing massive lag issues on DayZ, I know the game is in alpha but it shouldn't be this bad.

My specs:
Amd fx 8320
8gb ram
GTX 760 gpu

I get about 20-30 fps in Elctro with everything at the lowest it can go. I've tried all the tricks where you go into the config and change stuff there but it still is pretty much unplayable 🙁. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Solution
yes an ssd would help as it would load the game textures and data faster which means less lag and stuttering and if you mean can your motherboard support the gpu yes it can it can support any new gpu out atm. Your cpu is more than enough its a beast cpu.

check this video out do what is done in the video and get back to me.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KH2u0Q8N00

Tried all of that even went into the files and did all of that set gpu frames to 1 and all. Every setting and I mean everyone in the dayz video settings is either off if possible or on very low. I have tried pretty much everything, I am using razer game booster aswell which helps a bit and also shows my fps. My friend as an amd gpu ( he can run it with everything at max at 100fps somehow) and my old hd 7770 was better on dayz than my gtx 760. Is it possible that amd is better than nvidia on this game?

ok i only have two other things for you to try and if these don't work then i don't know. ok 1st when in game control+alt+delete and go to the task manager and click on the processes tab at the bottom left it will say show processes from all users click that and look for arma2oa.exe or whatever its called then right click on it and set priority to high and change the affinity and set it that the game is only using core 0 1 2 and 3. 2nd thing is to defrag your hard drive using the hard drive fragmentation tool on windows click start all programs then accessories system tools and then disk defrag run that then try dayz if these 2 solutions dont work then im all out of ideas.

It says the disk is 9% fragmented...

then you want to run the defrag on that disk it will improve performance hopefully once complete.

Thanks for all your help 😀

no problem have a good week!

Sitting in middle of elctro now with a solid 30fps whilst hard drive is defragmenting hoping that it wont drop!

Those temps are more than okay, and well in the safe zone. My SLI'd 760's bump up to about 70C while playing.
