ddr 400 and ddr 3

actually i am using the ddr 400 ram but it was scrapped for short
now i am planning to buy ddr 3
and my question is can ddr3 fix to my same CPU , is there any side effects to computer. which is the latest product, and what are the advantages..??

You can't user a DDR3 memory instead of a DDR4!

Do you mean DDR400 or DDR4? DDR400 could refer to just DDR1. Either way, if it's probably not going to work with DDR3 (some exceptions).
