Hi Guys
This has been bothering me for a while, and i thought a different motherboard would solve the issue but it hasnt.
The Problem:
I have 8gb (4 x 2gb) of Kingston Hyperx 1066mhz DDR2 240 pin (http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&q=kingston+hyperx+ddr2+1066&cid=205803726998765539&os=tech-specs) in my ASUS P5Q Pro Turbo motherboard.
When i run PC Wizard, or any similar application, i am told that my RAM is running at 800mhz as PC2 6400. I have entered bios and changed the RAM settings to PC2 8500, changed the voltage to 2.2v and changed the latencies to 5-5-5-15, as reccommended by Kingston. The RAM is 100% compatible with my motherboard, i checked that before buying, but it is not being read at the correct speed. I had the same issue with an older motherboard (ASUS P5QLD Pro), but the ram was not 100% compatible with the mobo, one of the reasons why i changed it.
Anyone know how to sort this out?
Specs:
W7 Ultimate x 64
4 x 2gb DDR2 Kingston Hyperx @ 1066mhz
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4ghz
Asus P5Q Pro Turbo motherboard
Gainward GeForce 250 GTS @ 1gb.
2 x seagate barracuda 500gb @ 7200rpm
2 x seagate barracuda 1tb@ 7200rpm
600w OCZ Stealth X Stream 2 PSU.
Thanks
Serth
