Hello,
I have a motherboard GIGABYTE GA-H81M-H, I took out my ddr3 ram to give to my gf so I couldn't procrastinate and play on my PC however I tried to put old ddr2 ram into the machine and booted it up and got the post code of 1 long beep and 3 short beeps indicating a memory error,I then realised that you could not place ddr2 ram in ddr3 slots, however I got my ddr3 and tried putting it in my machine and got the same post error, I've tried both ram slots and made certain it was placed correctly, I've repeated the gpu also. Did I damage the motherboard by putting in the ddr2 and booting it up or is there something I have to do with my motherboard, i read somewhere that gigabyte motherboards have some security boot fail thing or something. Thank you guys.
