Hi,

I have dell xps 8300 that came with only 8Gb ram (DDR3-1333Mhz) ,Dram Frequency is 665.1 Mhz) , because im working as graphic designer so i need more ram , today i purchase another 8 gb ram, but when installing at home i surprised! it was 800Mhz, i check with CPUID and now the DRAM Frequency is Still 665.1 Mhz, is that ok? I mean mixing ram? between 800Mhz and 666Mhz? i have 4 chips every chip is 4 GB ,and every two chips have one frequency 800Mhz and 666Mhz, what is your advice? thanks in advance...

Well, 667MHz is the original clock speed and 1333MHz is its effective clock speed as it is a DDR (double data rate) memory. Likewise, 800MHz is nothing but 1600MHz clock speed memory. Since, you are mixing higher speed 1600MHz...

Well, 667MHz is the original clock speed and 1333MHz is its effective clock speed as it is a DDR (double data rate) memory. Likewise, 800MHz is nothing but 1600MHz clock speed memory. Since, you are mixing higher speed 1600MHz memory with lower speed 1333MHz memory the higher speed has defaulted to the lower speed. Your system will work fine and the difference in speeds is not that much, besides you won't even recognize it. So don't sweat it.
