hi... i inserted 4 gb hynix DDR3 1600 11-11-11-28 & 2 gb hynix DDR3 1333 9-9-9-24 in my system.... will i get better performance with a single stick of 4gb@1600mhz ? I mainly use my laptop for gaming. Can you guys help ..... here are my ram report

Yes, i didn't see the complete Ram details which you added. What you are saying might be correct, the 4gb module might start running at the tighter timings when dropping down to 685MHz frequency because of the 2GB ram. Plug them in both and see what frequency 4GB module runs at, if it runs at 685 MHz and uses the 9-9-9-24 timings then it is great and you are good to use both of them. tighter timings are better than more frequency.
Both Ram will run at the frequency of the memory with lower frequency.

4 GB ram is more than enough for daily tasks and gaming, if you are sure that you will not use more than 4GB ram then remove the 2 GB stick from laptop.

4GB ram at 1600 MHz is more performing than 6GB ram at 1333Mhz. but if your ram usage goes more than 4GB then it is better to have 6GB ram at 1333MHz.

Most likely your ram usage won't go above 4GB, so i would recommend , use the 4GB ram alone.

Ram timings make more difference than ram speed, 9-9-9-24 are more performing than 11-11-11-24. But if you use both the stick 4GB will always run at 11-11-11-24 and not at 9-9-9-24. so if you run both 4Gb and 2GB, you are not getting any timings benefit anyhow and you are loosing your Frequency benefit.
 


but one of the memory timing in the above report is given as 685 MHz 9-9-9-24 for 4gb so should'nt it use this timing when in conjuction with other 9-9-9-24

How can i check what frquency 4GB module is running at ?

 
Get CPU-Z from internet. It is a software that shows details about your CPU and some other hardware. Go to the memory tab on it and on the left there will be a menu giving memory slots, choose the memory slot which shows your 4GB module in the details. You will see the memory frequency given in the details.
