hello
i have a vaio vpcec35fg that currently has 2x 2gb (=4gb) pc3 8500 (777) ram sticks.
i replaced them with 2x 4gb 1600 mhz ddr3 sodimms.
the pc boots up but windows gives a Blue screen. similarly trying to run ubuntu pc reboots halfway thru the ubuntu startup process.
i have tried other rams of the same new spec but i get the same issue. The original speed ram is very expensive (2x the new one) .. so what am i doing wrong? shouldnt the ram be theoretically backwards compatible?
