I some time soon am looking at geting a new Core I7 920 computer I was wondering if anyone can tell me how much difference it really makes having like 9-9-9-24 vs 7-7-7-24

the people i am going to buy the computer from use

or the 3GB verson and I was thinking of adding in a

but I really dont know much of how the timing stuff works like can you have 2 different sets of ram runing at different timings or would i just overclock the slower one

All I really know or well think I know is that the 7-7-7-24 is faster but being faster does not mean much if it is only going to make 1ms difference in things i will never really know anyway

Ya I am thinking the same thing G.skill looks to be the best

but I still could use some info about over clocking the ram like since I am geting it from the company I am going to have to have at least 3GB of the 9-9-9-24

so knowing if that can be over clocked to match the 8-8-8-21 or if they can just both run at different timings

from what you posted it does not seem there is even that much difference in the rams so i might just let them put in 6GB of the 9-9-9-24 and not worry about it
