DDR3, DDR3l & DRR4

Solution
4th Gen is considered the Haswell CPUs that only run DDR3, 5th Gen are the 2011v3 CPUs and 6th gen are Skylake (socket 1151). The 5th and 6th Gen are the ones that run DDR4

____________

DDR3L is DDR3 Low voltage, whose standard is 1.35 vs the accepted 'norm' of 1.5 and not tied to laptops :)

Edit: bignastyid beat me to it

Performance wise wise (at the same data rate and timing, no difference to speak of. Most DDR4 runs with higher comparative CLs at a given data rate than does DDR3 due to the reduced voltage

Question is Will it support Intel 4th gen processor and motherboard?

So that means due to high voltages in DDR3, LGA 1151 won't support DDR3 but can support DDR3l.
Then if we overclocked DDR4 RAM, then won't the voltage reach over 1.5V?

I (and some of the mobo makers) don't really agree with that approach, there are Z170 mobos that will run DDR that they advertise right up through 1.65 DRAM, Intel's official stance is no on DRAM over 1.5, but that was also their stance on the P67, Z77, Z87 and even Z97 (1600 and up to 1.57 or whatever)

You are a mobo maker. :O
Nice

Have a question
Do you guys plan on releasing a Z170 mini itx ROG motherboard?
I am planning to build a mini itx build since I have a unopened phanteks enthoo evolve pro itx case

aah I just noticed. You have 3 Rigs.. AMAZING

Also one more question. Is it possible to lower the voltages in DDR3 memory on an other computer and then insertit in LGA 1151 motherboard?
If so would you recommend it?

Nice
My rig died due to some fault in the PSU and guess what, it took down everything (it was pretty much outdated now)
i5 750
gtx 560
500 PSU i think

Frustrated I was and started saving money.
Been 2 years now
