So I recently bought some Kingston 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR3L HyperX Fury Black C11 1866MHz.

Took out the old ram put in the kingston and pc won't start just keeps trying to boot every few seconds until I unplug it - Putting the old ram in and taking out the kingston it's working normally.

I've updated my BIOS and tried using each stick of kingston by itself instead of both and still have no sucesss? Any ideas?

System model: Z68X-UD3H-B3

If you need anymore info from me just ask I'm not great with computers but I'll do what I can.
Thanks.

Not sure if I need to go into bios and change voltage for the ram since now I'm on 1.5 but im changing to 1.35? or If I need to change frequency settings since before it was on 1633 and now I'm changing to 1866?

Haven't done the above yet as I'm novice and don't want to break everything and not sure if it has anything to do with anything.

Hello there.

Usually, the RAM sticks should have worked immediately, even if they're DDR3L. These sticks are made for both 1.35 or 1.5V.

I suggest putting in the two cards together and resetting the bios, if you know the procedure. Either with the jumper or by removing the battery.

If it still doesn't work, you either have RAM incompatible with your motherboard or...they're defective, which I doubt for two sticks.

Not sure how to reset the BIOS but I'm googling it, before I do it though what is the plan from this what am I trying to achieve/change?

When I bought the ram online I had to input my system model number to be sure it was compatible so I assume it is.

Resetting the BIOS is usually an easy procedure, if you do it correctly. The reason for resetting the BIOS is because it's possible your current ram settings don't work with the Kingston, and needs to be reset.

But first, check this:
Go into the BIOS. Check the MB Intelligent Tweaker -> Advanced memory settings. Is XMP enabled? If yes, disable it. Try again.

Or select "Load fail safe settings" in the first page. I'd simply try setting the RAM to another speed in the BIOS, then swap sticks.

Sadly, you never know when something is incompatible. Your motherboard doesn't need DDR3L. It only works at 1.5V, so if the sticks don't work well at 1.5V for some reason, they won't boot.

Advanced memory settings XMP was already disabled.

How do I change ram speed in bios? I cannot find this setting. By speed do you mean frequency or volts or something else?
