DDR3 or DDR2

Solution

Is this for a new build, or pre existing machine. Ram will depend on what your motherboard suports, if its an old pc its probably DDR2 but if your building something new it will always be DDR3, it is also cheaper to buy ddr3 rams than ddr2.

Tell me if your building something or if its extra ram for pre-existing pc, and ill help you chose :)

Also, keep in mind if its for gaming, there is no need for more than 8gb (2x4).
If you are using the pc for rendering or 3d modeling 12/16gb comes in handy.
But either way gl hf

Assuming that you're looking at getting a new computer, DDR3 is the way you should go. The cost of DDR2 has come back up as it nears the end of its main usage period, so in many cases it's cheaper to purchase DDR3. If it's for a current computer, then Kurifox is correct, it depends on your motherboard.
