ddr3 ram 4gb compatibility with amd athlon II x2

i have my amd athlon II x2 i want to upgrade my ram to 4gb ddr3!,so it is compatible or not?pls help

pretty sure all athlon II cpus are fm1/fm2 or am3 cpus... so i'd say you should be fine.

If your motherboard supports DDR3 than you're good to go.

Depends on the freq of the DRAM a 965 rev C3 is the starting point for 1600 DRAM so if less best sticking with 1333 as max

The Athlon CPUs theoretically top out at 1333 and 16GB, if your mobo can run DDR3, 4GB will run, suggest 1333 in a 2x2GB setup
