DDR3 RAM still good?

Solution
Is newegg/amazon available for your region? That laptop is terribly overpriced when compared to prices in the states, IDK where you are.
Can get a laptop with a GTX 1060 and i7 with DDR4 for $1200 currently on newegg, and that was with approximately 30 seconds of searching.

But ignoring that, yes DDR3 is perfectly fine still. You wouldn't even be able to tell the difference if RAM was the limiting factor.

DDR3 is still good but there are better laptops for that amount of money. In the desktop world, DDR4 memory makes ryzen cpus faster due to the way they're built, not that intel is bad just that overclocking ram on an intel machine doesn't make as big of a difference as it does on a ryzen system. Ram usually doesn't bottleneck a laptop, it's the gpu in most cases or the amount of ram.

He's probably in NZ since that's a NZ site. No we dont have Amazon or Newegg.

The closest Amazon now is Australia. But I've heard there's not a lot there at the mo, to choose from

But I wouldnt call that cheap either. By the time you inc postage and convert currency, some of the prices on Amazon are a rip off. It's nearly triple the price of what you see on Amazon, after you check out

Most things in NZ ARE overpriced / a rip off. Thats why I get most of my PC stuff overseas lol

Well not inc laptops / desktops
