Question DDR3 SODIMM to DIMM Adapters Question

I was looking to get a couple of the above adapters for use in testing the rebuilds and troubleshooting I find myself doing. Mostly I work with older stuff, so I'm looking at DDR3 adapters; at least for now. I've never used these before, so I have a question...
Sometimes the adapters are denoted by memory size e.i. 4GB, 8GB... Sometime not. Is that really a parameter for an adapter? Doesn't an adapter work with any size SODIMM stick installed in it?

In theory, size wouldn't be your limiter, it'd be the frequency of ram on the adapter.

Without knowing what specific adapters you are looking at, I would suspect there are some compatibility issues in terms of single-sided versus double-sided memory. In the DDR3 days there were also concerns with high density versus "low" density memory..

Yeah, I read the double-sided/single-sided issue as well, but forgot to add that question. 🙄
I didn't have any particular adapters in mind, COLGeek and Lutfij. I just checked them out for the first time today on A__z_n. > Link
A couple of these seemed as good as any to me... ?
If you folks can advise otherwise, it would be appreciated.

Thanks. That got me looking. Linus made a video about these as well, but in the DDR4 version. This doesn't seem to be exactly a 100% sure-thing however. But at least they aren't super expensive.
