[SOLVED] DDR3600 and DDR2400 together

Ive got some CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800) C18 installed in my PC now a friend of mine gave me some CORSAIR - Vengeance LPX DDR4 2400 MHz 2x8 GB. Is it worth installing both sets or will the 3600 be allowed down.
I do some music production and video editing but not sure if I'll benefit in anyway from installing the extra 16gb considering the lower speed.

Not worth it, either stick to the current kit you're working with or the older kit. If you want more ram, source the same kit of ram.

Thanks for the response. I actually stick it in and haven't really noticed a difference.

Likely because memory doesn't run at the advertised speeds out of the box. The new kit is running at 2133, and if you never activated XMP on your original kit, then it too is running at 2133.
