Any motherboard with a PCI-e x16 slot will support this card.

Any motherboard with PCIe 2.0 x16 only will support this card. Recent motherboards all come with PCIe 2.0 specifications. Older motherboards with PCIe 1.0 x16 will NOT support this card. This is where backward compatibility is broken.
