So about 2 weeks ago my hard drive full on stopped working and thank goodness i have windows downloaded on an SSD, but everything that was on my hard drive is still showing on my desktop yet I can't access any of it (obviously), but I also can't delete any of it, and I can't download anything that I once had because my computer thinks I still have it, does anyone know how I can delete everything that I had off my hard drive from my PC, Thanks!

It sounds like you might referring to shortcuts that you've transferred from your My Documents/User data/desktop to the SSD with the new Windows install?? Or else you simply copied all of the data across from the now dead hard drive to the SSD? If the drive is dead and gone....it couldn't possibly show anything that was on it, unless you copied it across to the new SSD.

In which case, you may have to reinstall the programs that you used before, so that they are rebuilt into the Windows registry.

All of the data you copied across will not be able to launch unless it is within the Windows Registry. This lets the PC know where it needs to find, and start your programs.

I think that's what the situation is here.
