[SOLVED] Dead motherboard what should I upgrade 2?

Hey all, Dont know much so bear with me. Recently my usb sockets died on my motherboard Asus Z170m-plus. So i want to replace it. If you also want to recommend upgrades to other part please feel free to suggest.
Other specs.
Intel i5 6600k
Strix gtx970
Corsair vegence pro 32gb 3200
Corsair h100x cpu cooler
Bequit purepower l8 600
Phanteks Enthoo Pro M ATX mid tower case

Could go for another z170 or maybe sell 6600k and look into z490 with 10400 or 10600k. Hyperthreads alone you'll enjoy.

Thank you! I really didn't think about jumping up a few generations. To be honest probably a smart thing to do to keep up with the games coming out

I would definitely jump up to an 11th gen Intel, or a Ryzen 3000/5000 series chip, like a 3600, 3700x, or 5600x. You have the perfect excuse to get a nice upgrade.

Yeah agree with above. Can reuse everything else so wouldn't cost all that much considering and moving away from the trusty quad (for it's time) will be a good thing.
