Hello guys, I recently bought a Ryzen 7 5700x and b550m Aourus Elite as an upgrade for my current Ryzen 5 3500x and b450m mortar max, and for the last 2 months of using it glad to say that it's working properly with no issues then I decided to upgrade again this time around the GPU (from rx 580 to rtx 4060) and also my PSU(from 650w thermaltake bronze certified to 750W Huntkey gold certified), I was able to use the newly purchased components properly for a month then one day when I tried turning on the system unit it won't turn on, tried several times it still won't turn on, check the cables, I/O switch of psu, 24 pin, CPU pin, reinsert ram, and some other basic troubleshooting steps but the pc wont still turn on. I suspected that it might be the PSU then I pulled out the 24 pin (with the CPU pin still inserted on the mobo) then shorted it (or what do you call that term) using a paper clip upon doing that I noticed that the PSU is working properly as it powered up the mobo(rgb from ram and gpu lights up, compared when the 24pin is inserted in mobo literally no power) even though the cpu pin is the only one connected to it. After that test I assumed that the issue is on the motherboard itself so I brought system unit to the shop to have them double check if it is really the motherboard
after some tests their findings is the same as mine which is motherboard so then I asked for it to be replaced since it still covers the warranty but the shop says that they still have to verify with their distributor(or something .. ) if it is really a fault on their end or else they will think the blame is on me. I am confident enough that I handled each pieces of components with care just to avoid some physical damage and no overclocking done just all default settings. I need help on this one guys, what do you think is the problem on mine or is that the mobo is defective?

Also should I accept if they repair this motherboard or request a newer unit? Coz the course of action they want is the repair and I don't want a newly bought component repaired since it must be working properly since it's new right?

PS: The worst part is that the issue also broke my ram (tried with other system units and sadly they aren't working)

Specs:

Ryzen 7 5700x
B550m Aorus Elite
G skillz Trident 2x8GB
RTX 4060 8gb
Huntkey MVP 750w 80+ Gold certified
Adata xpg 256 gb m.2 nvme
Ramsta 1tb ssd
1th sshd (I forgot what the brand name is)

If the shop found the motherboard to be defective and they are asking you to take to the manufacturer, then you might get a repaired or refurbished unit. Many times a refurbished motherboard might work better than a new unit, since it goes thru more extensive testing.

The only way you could be found at fault is if you damaged the motherboard and that includes if the PSU caused the motherboard to die.

Thank you for your response @jojesa, you gave me a new perspective when it comes to repaired units because I always thought that when a brand new unit is repaired it might affect its total lifespan because of the repairs made rather than the out of the box pure stock unit. I think it might just be trust issues on my end LOL.

For the PSU part, that's the one thing that I worry, because the PSU that I bought is from their shop also and I can't assess if the issue on the motherboard is caused by it because I was able to use it properly for at least a month.

I have a refurbished motherboard, since the brand new one I got was defective.
Also a M.2 SSD was also defective and I found out after it was half full...it happens more often than you think.

The Huntkey MVP PSU is a very good unit, but it will be good to have it tested. Just in case.
Even new component could have defects.

Thank for you inputs @jojesa and sorry for the late reply, just to give you an update, I gave them my motherboard and up until now I don't have any updates regarding it, I keep on asking for updates to them and they say some distributor policy or something like return process and it's been almost 3 weeks.

What should I do? I'm quite in a bind now because I really need the unit for my work and without the mobo it ain't working. I am thinking for a refund as the item is still in warranty but I do not know if it is still possible.
