[citation][nom]danwat1234[/nom]5900RPM or 7200RPM? You might as well wait until Christmas if you can because prices will be cheaper then. We are still riding on the flood prices.[/citation]
you bet it's 5xxx rpm. You can also get USB2.0 version and demand for 7200rpm disks without a case is high. Or maybe 3.0 version could be 7200rpm in some regions...

It may be 5900rpm like the 2Tb version :(
Also, it doesn't have a power switch so it'll shut off if the computer goes off.
In addition, it used to have problems if you use it as a backup driver connected to a computer esp. a server in that it powers down after a few minutes but takes awhile to power up. You can NOT change the settings
Seagate's external drives aren't that user-friendly which is why I will not buy them again as I returned the 2Tb version and will Never buy another Seagate Expansion drive!

I sigh a little inside each time I come across something like this:

This Seagate external hard drive has a massive three terabytes of storage space, which can hold over 51,000 hours of music or 750 DVD films or nearly a million high res photos.
