Debating upgrading PC, mainly thinking about the GPU. MSI gtx 1080ti trio seems good. Advice? (rgb fan xD)

Hey,
Just wanted to ask some opinions on what to do or where to take my current build.
I currently have a fairly decent/high end PC and was just looking for advice on what GPU to get, and whether to wait for new GPUs to come out or upgrade right now. Any advice is appreciated. :)

Approximate Purchase Date: Anytime soon, dependent on whether advice is to wait for new GPU releases or buy now.

Budget Range: Have most parts currently, unless advised to upgrade current, mainly budgeting for a GPU and not looking to spend over £1000 altogether.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Video editing potentially, watching YouTube videos.

Parts Not Required: Unless advised to upgrade, I currently have and would prefer to keep:

The main things I'm focusing on are GPU and PSU, but as stated above, any advice is appreciated for any product.

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/ & https://www.ebuyer.com/

Country: United Kingdom

Parts Preferences: GPU/PSU or any you recommend upgrading :) preferably Corsair/MSI with RGB as using Corsair link/CUE to sync RGB between ram, fans and cpu cooler. Also using Mystic light to sync GPU with Motherboard.

https://ibb.co/iKRyko Current PC. (RGB Fanboy I know) :D (RGB Strips not stuck down as debating changing case as getting crowded in current one).

Overclocking: Yes, with basic programs included with CPU and GPU.

SLI or Crossfire: No.

Monitor Resolution: 4k - 3840 × 2160 main reason I'm wanting to upgrade GPU to be able to run games high settings in 4k whilst potentially streaming. Also 1920 x 1080 with 144hz refresh for second monitor.

For the GPU I was focusing around the Msi GTX 1080ti trio as it has a beautiful RGB factor and packs a huge performance punch over the 1060 6gb. Any suggestions and Pros/Cons of the GPU and any like it are appreciated greatly.

Thanks for taking the time to read and help out a fellow PC builder! :)

The next Nvidia series GPUs are rumored to start popping up in July. A link to one of the many posts on this:
https://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-turing-faq,37067.html

I think, at this point, if your current rig holds up well enough, waiting and seeing, what the reviews are for the new series and how much of an improvement the new series GPUs really are, would be the prudent move. That being said, only the Founders editions will start shifting units, meaning that any extended editions will take extra time to acquire (and to be reviewed), so RGB models are probably going to come out even further down the line. Ultimately it is up to you, just giving my 2 cents. That being said, I am not the most active member of this site, so maybe someone else has better advice.

I did hear about new that new GPU coming out, was one of my main points on making this post as I wanted other opinions on whether it's a smart move to wait and see or to buy now.
I really appreciate that you did give your two cents! was exactly what I was hoping for, just a second vote on what move to make. Thank you :)

On the alternate side of this coin....the 1080 are the only series anything near MSRP. We still have to take a wait and see attitude on the new cards that are RUMORED to come out in July. Considering that the 1080 and ti series will murder any game in front of it at 1080 and 2K, and handles 4K really well also.....

I didn't wait. I just picked up a 1080 and am super happy with it. Lol, mine also had that nice LED effect and a backplate....didn't hurt the way it looked a bit.

Thanks for the response!
I was looking into stats of current games fps on certain GPUs and did notice that the 1080 performs incredibly on 1080p. I also noticed that 1080ti's perform very well too, but I'm just not sure if spending over £900 for a GPU should mean average FPS is only just reaching the 60s at 4k. :/
