Looking at 850w psus, the MSI A850GF and the Fractal Ion Gold are both tier A and in the same price range of $110 at least atm. There is also the Super Flower Leadex which has the most reviews for $90 but that one's only 750w, which I recon is more than enough for me but in the big picture, it's not that much cheaper than the 850w options, which might be more comfy for more high-end builds that I might make in the future. I do like the idea of the flat cables in the MSI and it does seem like the cheapest bang for its buck.

3700x/3060ti

No OC, may look into replacing the 3060ti for a 3080 if I can as that's what I wanted in the first place.

But for <$20 more, would it be better to just get the MSI over the Leadexx? At this point I'm just comparing MSI's price to performance and Leadexx's reputation back and forth. I'm just afraid the future generations might be unexpectedly even more power hungry than this generation making the 750w the "bare minimum" for the higher end cards. Or is that unlikely to happen?
The MSI unit is pretty good in tested loads. If Leadexx makes good PSUs, doesn't mean others cant. If you have the budget, doesn't hurt to keep the extra headroom for future upgrades, specially with 10yr warranty...

msi has 10year warranty, fractal has 7year warranty, leadex has 10year warranty
for rtx3080 750watt is enough

if they are same tier, then pick cheaper

Thanks, I think I'm actually gonna just wait for the 850w Leadex to go on sale again, just because apparently flat cables are harder to work with and I don't need the PSU immediately anyway.
