Decision about the PSU for my new build

Hello guys, I'm having some problems with the PSU decision and I think this forum is the best choice to ask. I'm building a new medium PC for games and I don't know what PSU I should pick up.

Here are my specs:
Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2,5Ghz (Maybe OC'ed to 3Ghz or 3.3Ghz)
MSI RX3870
ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe Motherboard
4 GB 1333Mhz RAM
250 or 500GB HDD


My question is: Are 450W enough to run my PC good without any problems or no?

Since I'm a bit...end of cash I'll probably need a not that bad cheap PSU, that's what I found:

Here is my advice - do not go with any of those power supplies - they are all very questionable psu's that will certainly destroy your system in a short period of time. Rule number 1 is do not go cheap on your PSU or you are asking for major problems. You need to choose a solid psu to power your system or you will have problems. Try a brand like corsair, seasonic or antec. They are quality psu's and have 3 to 5 yr warranties. Here is a few good choices:

None of those are good but a good 430W PSU will power your computer. This one should do the trick.

Yes, I know there PSU are good but in my country they are very expensive.. This one which is 430W is 65-70$. I can't buy from Amazon or Newegg because I'll have to pay like 40-50$ for delivery probably..

Well lets put it this way. Think of a PSU as the heart. If it goes so the system is dead and other parts can fail and die too. Don't cheap out.

I think in this case the PSU is more like the motor in a rocket, a rocket motor is what pushes the rocket along and is little more than a controlled explosion in a tube that gets work done, but if it is cheap and goes wrong it tends to take the whole rocket with it when it goes. Your PSU is what pushes your computer along and lets it run, similar to the rocket engine it has a lot of energy stored up in it so if it is cheap and fails it tends to take other parts of the metaphorical rocket with it.


The top three you listed are hell no, the delta is the best of that bunch but its still bad and ancient. 2 floppy connectors tells me it cannot be any more recent than about 2003 when things still had more than 1 floppy/zip drive and odds are it hasn't aged well. Even sitting in it's box it will have lost capacity and it didn't have enough to begin with.


You say you think newegg will charge a large amount for delivery, where are you located? If you are anywhere in the continental US delivery is cheap or often free. If you are in another country we can find you one shipped from a local online store.

I'm located in Bulgaria and all Power Supplies are a way expensive than newegg and amazon(example). Anyway are Rasurbo good or? I don't know *** about Power supplies that's why I'm asking so stupid questions..

Nope. Here's a list of good brands. Antec, OCZ, SeaSonic, XFX, PC Power & Cooling and Corsair (listed in no specific order).
