Good day everyone!

I have a few questions regarding my RAM since my BIOS has a password which kinda sucks since the one I bought this from has enterprise warranty so yeah. My main questions are since I have these RAMs Kingston 8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 666MHz (9-9-9-24) That are generic non gaming RAMs.

I need to ask if the adding additional 4gb RAM on my computer might need to be reconfigurated manually through the BIOS if I plug in and install Kingston HyperX Furry DDR3 1866 4gb on my motherboard.

And my motherboard is this DDR3 Intel DH77EB.

I read the features of the HyperX Fury series which are structured to have 'Plug and Play' features where you don't have to configurate anything. My motherboard only supports up to 1600MHZ but the HyperX said that using 1866 will work and will only downclock the usage to 1600 to support it. I need confirmation from you experts on this because I might buy one soon since I noticed that... multiple-tasking while playing games are not only sloppy but it tends to lag on my screen that it is screaming more memory. =C I'm also doing a lot of photoshop and other media task to why I might need more RAM. I recently bought the Zotac GTX 1050 ti OC 4gb(Still on shipment sadly and it takes forever.). Plus I read the reviews that branded RAMs seem to have better clockspeed than generic RAMs.

Solution
Mixing RAM is not the best idea in your case. The 1866 will be clocked down to 1600 from the start due to the motherboard only being able to use 1600. The Hyper X RAM if mixed with the 666Mhz RAM will downclock even more. It'd be better to go with one or two sticks that are the same Mhz and Gb. I'd suggest going with Hyper X Fury 8GB @ 1600Mhz. 8Gb is the "sweetspot" for RAM amount to juggle gaming and general photo/video editing. Also when adding two sticks of ram to a motherboard be sure to add them to the same color slots. This way they run on the same channel.

Thank you very much! That actually helps a lot regarding that link about dual channels. I was wondering why it has two identical colors on my RAM slots. The shops I usually try to find seem to be fresh out of DDR3 HyperX 1600MHZ... I think I might be force to go to a major city to find one... ughh! Thank you bunches!

What should I do with the old RAMs though...? if I get the new RAM I kinda don't wana throw them away or something like that. :c I bought them with my earned money when I was still at college.

There are plenty of websites to order your RAM from! I personally use Newegg mostly because of the good sales and deals they have going on. Can you not order online? And just keep the old ram but be careful not to let them get static and don't touch the connectors!
