I'm about to click the old checkout button but I thought I would get some input first. This will serve as a dedicated Plex server with no more than two simultaneous HD (720/1080p) streams (videos will be stored on an external HD). Size and appearance were determining factors besides performance. Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Especially if anyone sees any potential issues. Thanks!

Specs are WAY better than what I have Plex running on for my server (which is also a Teamspeak, music and document server.) You should be fine. Mine bogs down occasionally with HD streams, but again, you're way out in front. I'm running 4gb of RAM and an old dual-core.

as your using a locked cpu look at the 4590. for the b85 mb. if you can go with the newer skylake cpu and ddr4 ram. it give you one or two cpu upgrade latter on if needed. the haswell cpu have gone end of life. on the ssd look at the newer 720 unit from samsung. if you can pick up the 256g unit. I have intel 120g ssd and with clean install of windows 10 it loses 30-40g. so there not much room for games and other aps on a smaller 120g drive.

It's a server...there shouldn't be much need for all of that. I have a 30g SSD in mine running Linux and just enough extra software for the server needs, with old spare hardware from most of ten years ago. Then, I packed it full of large-cap HDDs in RAID and let it be. No need to break the bank or overthink it.

I wanted to use an FX-8350 but I could not find a mini-ITX board with an AM3+ socket.

The SSD will only store the OS and Plex Server software so I wasn't too concerned with size.
