Question Default boot device missing or boot failed

Hi all,

I have an Acer Predator Laptop - i had a powersurge.

When booting it says: "Default boot device missing or boot failed".

The pc was running some bots / automated tasks when it suddenly lost power - the power cable had come lose.

Investigated the internet and decided that I would buy a new Samsung EVO 870 M2 disk and replace the other main disk (also m2). As I read many places that this normally was because the disk was dead.

BIOS is not detecting the M2 nor the other M2 i replaced - It still can see the second disk i have installed. I used a windows boot USB to try and install the new windows on the new M2 disk. ( freshly made today)

It detects the disk fine and I was able to delete/format it - but the installer says that "Windows cant be installed on this disk .The computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu"

What to do? I tried changing the SATA mode setting from RAID to AHCI Mode... i tried to put the BOOT mode into LEGACY.

Should I also disconnect the secondary disk?

Nothing helps? Any ideas?

INFO from BIOS:

System BIOS version: V0.11
VGA bios version: Intel v1020

Any input / help would be greatly appreciated :)
